Anthropologie Dynamic Zigs Dress, Ann Taylor Cardigan, J.Crew Belt, Cole Haan Air Talia Heels, Kate Spade Necklace and Bangle, Marc by Marc Jacobs ‘Petal to the Metal’ Pouchette
.
I never really thought much about this dress until I was in Austin browsing The Domain one afternoon and saw this girl wearing it in the blue colorway and looking amaaaazing in it. As I kept moving store to store, I kept running into her again and again, and more often than not we would awkwardly bump into each other because we seemed to be always interested in the same items. Clearly I had a style and taste twin, and I took this as a sign I should make a note to try on the dress she was wearing the next time I hit an Anthro. The blue colorway didn’t end up working for me, but I did love this brown zig zag version, and I ended up happily picking it up during last week’s percentage off sale items promotion for a whopping 80% off the original price. I love this dress’s easy, comfy jersey material, the flattering cut, the twirly skirt, the modest length, and its excitingly dizzying print that teases the eye and and emphasizes all the curves of my body in just the right way. So, many thanks to my anonymous style twin for opening my eyes to this wonderful piece!

Omg I love this dress! The pattern is definitely adorable and the brown goes so well with the green! I was just wondering if the cole haan heels were really comfortable?! I’m always on the lookout for comfy heels!

Comment by Fab October 13, 2011 @ 9:06 pmI used to work at the Anthropologie at the Domain! I recently moved and am missing Austin as well. It’s a great city – hope you enjoyed your time there. That dress is great on you BTW! I never even tried it on but seeing it on you makes me regret it. It looks great yet also comfy and easy.

Comment by a stylized hysteria October 14, 2011 @ 8:55 ami think i just realized how tall you are :) i purchased this dress in the blue colorway (for that same great price) and it’s past my knees…lol.
Comment by tia October 14, 2011 @ 9:05 amOh wow- this dress looks stunning on you! The length and fit, and the size of the pattern, is just perfect! I really like the mix of the deep green cardigan and tiny touches of gold. Sweet!
er…Now that I’m desperately realizing I need a green cardigan, I think this dress would also look amazing with a deep golden-hued cardigan too (and the famous yellow heels…)
Comment by thatdamngreendress October 14, 2011 @ 7:15 pmGorgeous. It reminds me a bit of the whirly-gig dress which I have in navy and love. This print is wonderful.
Comment by cwhf October 16, 2011 @ 10:14 amI bought this dress in the blue colorway and felt like the color you chose was more versatile but it seemed so blah…. I totally adore it paired with that fabulous green though – so good! Looks amazing on you…
Comment by Dawn October 16, 2011 @ 4:22 pmthis green complements the colors in the dress perfectly!
Comment by Rosa October 17, 2011 @ 10:30 amI saw this dress on a woman walking down the street in New York in May and waaaaaaaaay back then I knew I had to have it. Waited for sale though, and it was totally worth the wait! It looks wonderful on you :)

Comment by taramixandmatch October 23, 2011 @ 8:16 pmThe twirly skirt and print is just so lovely! I love the green cardigan you paired with it, too, and is that a wee little camera necklace I spy? I approve! And how funny about the style twin… I wonder if she recognized you?
Comment by Amy Kelinda October 24, 2011 @ 5:58 pmThis dress is incredibly flattering on you! And you know I love the sweater too! When I pulled out an emerald turtleneck sweater to wear today, I thought of you!
Comment by Jessica November 4, 2011 @ 7:44 amI know this is off subject, but I was wondering if you knew if Marc by Marc Jacobs and anthropologie are the same sizes?

Comment by DJ December 18, 2011 @ 5:00 pmHope you didn’t miss the Anthro 50% off deal on sale items that started yesterday. I felt like a thief hauling home bags full of great stuff — skirts, tops, belts, party dress, cardigan, tights — for less than $200 total. If you went, I’m sure your readers would love to see what you got and what you plan to do with it. Happy holidays, and please come back soon!
