My Anthropologie-lust has been rather tempered for the last couple of months, but I admit some of the October new arrivals have me totally excited again. So many lovely beautiful patterns, textures, and rich, saturated colors have me looking forward to dressing for fall and winter! Here are some of my favorite pieces:
.
Veiled Alder Dress (#22887426, $298), Glinting Persica Sweater Dress (#22853139, $188), Unconditional Osier Dress (#22804454, $168), Dulcie Dress (#22932032, $158), Many Folds Dress (#23140262, $168)
So many truly lovely dresses out this month. The first and foremost of which is Yoana Baraschi’s stunning Veiled Alder Dress, with beautiful whorls and leaves embroidered upon sheer mesh. It comes in a darker grey color way as well, but my heart is smitten with the ivory version, which has a gorgeous ice-princess-like effect. Next is the Glinting Persica Sweater Dress, which has been around for a little while, but never caught my eye until I saw it in person. The nude, gold and cream floral pattern is certainly pretty, but its the wonderful, flattering fit on this sweater dress that truly makes it a winner. Next is the Unconditional Osier Dress, which is a longer, dress version of my beloved Brushed Lace Pullover, in a pretty blue color. Then we have the Dulcie Dress; though I have concerns about it being too sheer, it looks warm, intricate and romantic, especially with its tulle skirt, and I am dying to try it on and see how it fares in person. Last is the Many Folds Dress. It’s hard to get a sense of the fit of this online, but I must say I’m totally intrigued by the adorable origami diagram pattern.

Adelie Blouse (#23382815, $158), Dromedary Dress (#23301427, $228), Stilt Striders Skirt (#23302169, $158) Tarpan Buttondown (#23519002, $88), In Clouds Blouse (#23297815, $148)
I love a good animal-print, and Anthropologie has delivered in spades this month. I remember staring and marveling at British designer Charlotte Taylor’s lovely collection of brightly hued, animal-printed fabrics last Spring, but wondering if I had any chance of snagging any of them overseas. Thankfully Anthropologie stocked one or two of her scarves earlier this year, and this fall they’ve decided to carry a variety of her prints — adorable penguins, camels, flamingos, snails, and ants — in a series of beautifully-cut silk blouses, dresses, and skirts. Anthropologie has even proffered up a similar print from one of their house-brands in the Tarpan Buttondown, covered with skittering little red mice.

Enduring Tweed Overcoat (#22962062, $298), Gradated Stripes Pullover (#23089709, $88), Effortless Corduroy Skirt (#22859730, $88), Thousand Carat Pullover (#21292586, $98), Tsuga Skirt (#23461544, $148), Lozenge Pullover (#23104409, $78), Glasbury Pencil Skirt (#23074586, $148)
I’ve been patiently waiting for the Enduring Tweed Overcoat to show up every since I saw Roxy wearing it at the blogger Color + Print event that Anthropologie hosted earlier this fall. When it suddenly appeared on the site for an apparently 60% off (though in reality, 30%, someone had made a typo on the retail price…) my eyes nearly popped out of my head and I hit order so fast my head nearly spun. Still impatiently waiting for it to arrive (curses to Anthropologie’s habit of shipping to me via glacially slow UPS), but hoping it is just as fabulous in person as it looked on Roxy. Next is a series of perfectly fall-appropriate pullovers and skirts. Loving the multi-colored stripes and decorative diagonal buttons on the Gradated Stripes Pullover, and think it could coordinate wonderfully with the swingy, deep-pocketed Effortless Corduroy Skirt. Also a huge fan of the super soft, pumpkin-hued, diamond-patterned Thousand Carat Sweater, and the pine-green, graphic-lined Tsuga Skirt. Last is the Lozenge Pullover (so similar to the Thousand Carat, but in a pretty plum shade) and the delightful tartan Glasbury Pencil Skirt..
What about you readers? Any favorites of your own from this month’s arrivals?

I feel like a touch of whimsy could be coming back to Anthro which can only be a good thing! My only wish is that there could be a bit more of a mash up between quirky, bright prints and the gorgeous, slightly more muted textures. Ah well, can’t have it all!
Comment by British Anthropologiest October 10, 2011 @ 9:50 amMy favorites are the animal prints! I love a fun print and these prints are so pretty too!
Comment by Tammy October 10, 2011 @ 9:56 ammmmm…this a beautiful collection you’ve put together! I think these pieces are stunning and exciting, and it’s lovely how well they can combine- fortunately for my wallet/closet none of these are a must for me…I already picked up the Painted Plaid dress for fall, and an array of brightly coloured pencil skirts.
The Dulcie dress is a pretty piece of confection!
I am starting to come around to pullover sweaters again however too…so pretty with skirts!
Comment by thatdamngreendress October 10, 2011 @ 10:11 amI haven’t had a chance to check them out in person yet but I am impatiently waiting to try on the Dulcie dress, which looks so delicately pretty, and the Unconditional Osier dress. I’m loving all the animal prints too but especially the penguin and flamingo prints and the Tsuga skirt and Glasbury plaid pencil skirt have caught my eye.
Comment by Tea October 10, 2011 @ 10:25 ami’ve been lemming a charlotte taylor piece all year, and had no idea anthro was carrying her line! i’m so glad i’ll be able to check it out at a store within the US. the only problem is trying to choose just 1 of her adorable prints.
Comment by joelle van dyne October 10, 2011 @ 11:18 am:) The Charlotte Taylor prints are so very you. You have to snag at least one!
Comment by goldenmeans October 11, 2011 @ 11:40 amI added the Dulcie Dress, Audrey Tulle Dress, and Alabaster Tassels Sweater to my wishlist. So many pretty things!
Comment by Val October 10, 2011 @ 11:30 amOoh, the Audrey Tulle wasn’t around when I was making this wishlist…its lovely indeed :)
Comment by goldenmeans October 11, 2011 @ 12:01 pmI love the Many Folds dress (while it is black, I’m always on the look out for dresses with sleeves…).
The Glasbury Pencil skirt is cute too — love a high waist. I have crazy visions of pairing it with my Alice + Olivia plaid bow tunic:

But I’m trying to hold off on more skirts since I just don’t reach for them as often as dresses. That’s why I wish the flamingo print was a dress instead of the camel print (love camels, but personally not a fan of pink & orange together).
Comment by zyzzyva October 10, 2011 @ 2:09 pmTrue, true, pink and orange isn’t exactly my favorite color combo…pretty sure her (mint and red) ant print will be offered in a maxi dress form at Anthro soon though, if that helps :)
Comment by goldenmeans October 11, 2011 @ 12:04 pmOddly enough, I don’t have too many wishlisted items from this month. I do love the veiled alder dress a lot (the grey version reminds me of the Cooled Lava Dress from the Oct 2008 catalog), but I don’t think it would fit too well into my lifestyle.
The Many Folds Dress is on my wishlist, but like you, I can’t tell what the fit’s going to look like. I also added the capelet to my wishlist. I love capelets!
Comment by Kelly October 10, 2011 @ 3:02 pmI love the Cooled Lava Dress. Still remember the catalog shot of it in fact :) Thanks for sharing Kelly! :)
Comment by goldenmeans October 11, 2011 @ 12:16 pmI was just convincing myself that I need that flamingo skirt earlier today. I’d probably wear it once or twice, but those few times would be absolutely dreamy!
Comment by Jessica October 10, 2011 @ 6:41 pmOh, I’m pretty sure that both you and I do indeed neeeed the flamingo skirt. It is too fabulous :)
Comment by goldenmeans October 11, 2011 @ 12:17 pmBack in September, I purchased the Veiled Alder Dress and Gradated Stripes Pullover with my birthday discount and a bunch of gift cards. I can’t say enough good things about both! I also love the blouse version of the dress. So pretty. The Dulcie Dress looks promising, but there was also a cream version online that was super gorgeous. It doesn’t show up anymore. I wonder what happened to that one!
Comment by Val October 10, 2011 @ 11:40 pmOh, good to know you loved both of those items, I do trust your opinions! :) Hope you wear both of them well! And I did see the cream Dulcie! I think it was a bit too sweet for my taste personally, but I could see it working well for many, I’m surprised it’s not around anymore.
Comment by goldenmeans October 11, 2011 @ 12:19 pmThanks for mentioning a couple of our dresses on your wishlist. Great feedback for us. Love your blog : )

Aw, thank you for visiting. I love so many of Weston Wear’s pieces, and it makes me feel extra-good buying from a brand that’s out of San Francisco! :)
Comment by goldenmeans October 11, 2011 @ 12:20 pmThe Tarpan buttondown with the mice and that Tracy Reese Glasbury skirt are giving me hot flashes…or is it the little man I’m toting around? Both. It’s both! Must have. I’m loving so many things right now…
