Anthropologie Two-Wheeler Shirtdress, Kate Spade Genevieve Cardigan, Anthropologie Banded Together Belt, Kate Spade Kellie Too Heels
.
Today is Everybody, Everywear’s yellow day — I’ve missed the last few challenge’s because I’ve been off the blogging train, but I’m so glad I’m back for this one, as yellow has definitely become one of my favorite colors to wear over the past year. It all started with the acquisition of and Old Navy cardigan I first wore in this outfit, and then this pair of fantastic yellow Kate Spade heels I acquired for a song…suddenly, all I wanted to wear was yellow, with everything! My favorite way to wear the color is not in giant swathes of yellow or anything though; I just think it makes a brilliant accent color, adding a bit of contrast, brightness and sunshine to any outfit. And my favorite color to accent with it is blue, sitting almost opposite it on the color wheel, so for today I chose this bicycle-strewn dress, the Anthropologie Two-Wheeler. Oh, and since I’ve worn that original Old Navy cardigan to death, despite it not being the best quality (it is thin and a mite shapeless, and also a little longer and more mustardy than I would have preferred), I decided to upgrade and treat myself to a really nice yellow sweater…I managed to pick up this one from Kate Spade at a steal of a price. It feels lovely, is just the right hue, and has the most adorable enamel buttons and bows on the sleeves!

Comment by Franca July 12, 2011 @ 9:53 amOh wow, that dress is too cute for words! I love how you accented it with the yellow cardi, and such a perfect shade of yellow it is too.
Comment by Tiffany July 12, 2011 @ 10:26 amanjali gorgeous as always! Everytime I see someone in this dress I weep because mine got ruined at work.
Comment by guest July 12, 2011 @ 10:33 amI love that dress, and all the yellow you paired with looks awesome.
Comment by No Guilt Fashion July 12, 2011 @ 11:05 amGreat look! Could you tell us more about where and how you find good deals on Kate Spade items? Ebay or other sources? Thanks!
Comment by Elana Levine July 12, 2011 @ 11:21 amNo big secret to these scores Elana, I got both off of katespade.com! If you wait long enough, items will get cuts up to 50-60% and they run 25% sale items promotions every couple months too. eBay sometimes has okay prices on KS stuff, but more often than not the pieces are not authentic (and cheaply made), so I don’t like to risk it.
Comment by goldenmeans July 12, 2011 @ 11:27 amCute! I think cobalt and yellow are the best combination!
Comment by kelsey July 12, 2011 @ 11:30 amBlue and yellow is one of my all-time fave color combos too b/c it always looks adorable, and this outfit is no exception. I completely agree about the cardigan – those buttons are simply beautiful.
Comment by MONKEYFACE July 12, 2011 @ 11:44 amLooks great! We’re outfit twins today, but the Northeast is 90+ degrees today, so no cute yellow cardigan for me!

Comment by Alicia July 12, 2011 @ 12:45 pmThis is so pretty! Everytime I see that dress, I regret returning it…it was too big in the waist and the armholes fit like tourniquets…but I should’ve just had it altered and kept it. So. Adorable.

Comment by Monica July 13, 2011 @ 6:08 amThat’s a great dress. I’m in love with the bicycles! And the yellow shoes and cardigan look lovely against the blue. It truly jumped right off the EBEW page.

Comment by Linda W July 13, 2011 @ 6:31 amwow! i really love this dress paired with the yellow! i think i’m going to be a copycat and do the same thing next time i wear it ;)
Comment by puppyloveprincess July 13, 2011 @ 12:11 pmThis is such a beautiful picture Anjali! I swear, you look GREAT in everything you wear! I used to not like wearing yellow at all, but this past year I have really embraced yellow as an accent color as I think it makes a good neutral. I wear my yellow seychelles diamond weave slingbacks with my two-wheeler dress, now I just need to find the right yellow cardigan to pair with it. :)
Comment by Athena July 13, 2011 @ 2:08 pmSuch a bright and cheerful look, Anjali! I have the Acorn-ucopia Porridge dress from Modcloth, which looks quite similar. I’ll have to try wearing it with yellow, too. The vintage blue and sunny yellow really contrast against each other perfectly. And I love your upgraded yellow cardigan — KS is the best!
Comment by Jamie - Thrifty Threads July 14, 2011 @ 4:32 amDo you mind me asking where you got that star necklace? It’s adorable!
Comment by J July 14, 2011 @ 8:18 amWhy thank you J :) I forgot to credit the necklace, but it’s the Glittering Star Necklace from the Met Store:

Comment by Kimbercrafts July 21, 2011 @ 3:14 pmI am a bit (extremely) fixated on blue these days – your dress is fantastic. And those heels! This outfit is so perfectly put together.
Comment by Cynthia @ Go Chic or Go Home July 31, 2011 @ 12:42 pmYellow jersey-ish cardigan + Two-Wheeler Shirtdress = Winner of the Tour de France. Love it, Anjali!
Comment by Val August 6, 2011 @ 9:50 am[...] So I’m really a little bit into mustard at the moment, and over the last few weeks I’ve been on the hunt for mustard coloured shoes, a la Anjali from Golden Means who always makes me jealous when she wears her Kate Spade Kellie Too heels. [...]
Pingback by Frocks & Frou Frou » Blog Archive » Cut the Mustard - August 7, 2011 @ 3:20 amLovely combination of yellow cardigan and printed blue jeans. Perfect outfit, eh.
Comment by Peny@embroidery digitizer October 18, 2011 @ 1:06 am[...] and the optional straps, and most thrillingly, its pockets! Perfection. I do already own the Two-Wheeler Dress, also adorned with bicycles, but I think the cut and color of this one is different enough to merit [...]
