Anthropologie Homegrown Dress, J.Crew Merino Ruffle Cardigan, Forever 21 Tights, kate spade kellie too heels, Forever 21 Headband, Rachel Leigh ‘Over It’ Necklace

The last few days I’ve been feeling decidedly glum and moody, and the formerly idyllic weather in California seems to have taken a turn for the worse to match my emotions.  As I walked along my street the other afternoon, the sky was overcast and threatening rain, the wind whipped the tree branches about violently, and the air nipped harshly at my cheeks.   Surrounded by gloom, I could feel my mood slipping even further.  I wondered what the point was of even trying to take any pictures and considered just turning around to go back and mope in bed with a comforting book.  But then, amidst all the gray, my eyes alighted on an unexpected sunny yellow patch a few yards down — an early-blooming cluster of daffodils, my favorite flowers.  It seemed that Mother Nature was extending a tiny peace offering, a small gift designed to lift my spirits.  I felt a smile come to my face for the first time that day.  They didn’t make my problems magically disappear or erase my despondency entirely, but these cheerful little daffodils seemed like symbol of all the beauty, happiness and hope in the world, reminding me that things could and would indeed eventually get better.  Today I am finally back to myself, but journey to recovery all started I think with these pretty, hopeful yellow blooms :)

Love your bright color outfit.

How appropriate you dressed to match the daffodils. I love how your outfit alludes to spring coming.

I’ve been pretty bummed about the weather too. Time for a sun dance!

You match the daffodils! I am sorry to hear that you’ve been feeling down — I hope your situation improves soon! In the meantime, I love those bright yellow shoes and polka-dotted tights!

I love that dress! I almost purchased it but I decided against it, and now I don’t know why! I love how you styled it with darker tights, its a nice combo!

Aw you look picture perfect for spring. The Homegrown dress is one of my very favourites that I own too. I always match it with oranges, but you make me want to find some yellow heels!

What a beautiful bouquet! You and your daffodils! yes, what is up with our weather where we now have to pull out fall clothes? I was getting used to the last few weeks of better-than-summer. I hope you are feeling better! You are certainly cheering us up!

Soo gorgeous! I wouldn’t have thought to pair the polka dot tights with the floral dress – but it totally works!

You are the epitome (spelling?) of spring in this outfit! The pictures are beautiful and so was your story depicting the journey to finding brightness. You’re beautiful Anjali and hope you start feeling much much better soon.

Daffodils (and their smaller sister, jonquils) are my happy flowers too – and always a sign that spring is on the way! Love your outfit today

Hi Anjali. Glad you’re feeling better. Daffodils always remind me that spring time is near. And I wished I lived in Cali . . . where I live, there’s still a foot of snow on the ground. And don’t worry too much :) things always have a way of working themselves out.

I’ve been feeling kind of glum lately too! But I think your outfit is absolutely cheery and shoos away any bad mood. Love.

Daffodils are my absolute favorite too (followed closely by tulips and gerber daisies). I was scrolling down thinking how beautiful your outfit was and then got to the daffodils and they gave me the biggest smile. Hope you are feeling smilier toooo!

Aw, many thanks to all of you ladies and your kind and complimentary words :) They mean a lot!

I love daffodils! Once the shoots start to emerge from the earth my heart lifts knowing spring is around the corner; it’s my favourite time of year. The snowdrops and crocuses are in bloom here but the daffs have yet to flower. The beautiful blooms you found are the perfect match for your gorgeous dress, I hope they did the trick and lifted your mood! x
