Anthropologie Speckled Ink Dress (a.k.a. the “Dreamy Drape Dress“), Jeffrey Campbell Athena Sandals, Rachel Leigh ‘Over It’ Necklace, Anthropologie Headband
I waited so long for this darn dress to go on sale, but when it was released in yet *another* colorway (purple motif, I think, in addition to gray and lavender and black), I broke down and bought it and was just grateful I could find it still available in the lovely original blue. And you know what? I enjoyed wearing it so much that it was totally worth it! The last time I tried it was in January, so I had forgotten how light and floaty and flattering it was. For its first outing, I amped up the Grecian element with gladiator sandals, a gold headband and flowy hair. I had to go into the office for a few hours, so I toned down the look a bit by tying back my hair and adding a black cardigan above, as shown below:

Happy weekend everyone!

Aww, it looks stunning on you! I really wanted this dress, but I wanted to get it on sale, and I waited so long, I didn’t think I want it anymore. You just reignited my lust for it. But now there’s so many other things I want, I will just live vicariously through you. And you do look like a Grecian goddess!
Comment by tien August 6, 2010 @ 12:33 pmI love your hair down – you look so pretty! And that dress looks great on you. I tried it on once and couldn’t even figure out how to get my arms into it! LOL You are like a fashion Do and I’d be a fashion Don’t!
Comment by Kathleen August 6, 2010 @ 1:03 pmI waited for it to hit sale too…but I don’t think it ever did. And by that time, i was too lazy to search for my size in stores…now I wish I’d bought it. :(

And I think it would be great to wear to a wedding I’m attending. (My ex will be there, and I think it’s the perfect amount of sexy. ;)

Comment by aimee. August 6, 2010 @ 9:51 pmToo cute! What a pretty pretty dress.Love the style. In addition to looking like a Grecian Goddess, you look like an Indian Goddess too, with the flowy Saridress draped over one shoulder feminine type outfit.:)
Comment by Mattine August 6, 2010 @ 11:00 pmNone of the new colors in this dress can come close to this ballpoint pen scratchy print (too cute, tracy reese!).
Opah! We just had Greek Mediterranean chicken Pizza, Dolmas and Baklava with friends! You should have been there! What a great and cute ensemble! Love the sandals! My daughter made a great pizza, I did a fine Greek Feta salad dressing, and you have created a very chic, very hip classical look that should really turn some heads!
Comment by Robert Kirbo August 7, 2010 @ 2:22 amI can’t stop admiring your hair. It’s so beautiful! I love how you’ve styled the dress. It’s definitely a grecian-inspired look but not costumey or over the top.

Comment by rosa August 7, 2010 @ 9:09 pmPlease list the headbands you have got from Anthro. I love headbands and wear them all the time. So I am going to track down as much as I can. I love the ones you have got so far.
Comment by twende August 7, 2010 @ 9:14 pmHrm, the ones I can remember off the top of my head include the Ropy Headband (re-released this season as the Over-and-Under Headband), the Cosmic Headband, the Labyrinth Headband, the The-Night-Sky Headband, the Twinkle Headband and the Teavaro Headband. I don’t know the name of this one unfortunately; it was never offered online. Hope this helps you out!

Comment by cat August 8, 2010 @ 8:15 pmEveryone — Sorry for the late reply, but thank you all for your very sweet comments and compliments! I was very excited that this dress still seemed to have an “it” quality to it that made it worth being full price, even after 7 months (!) of waiting for it to go on sale.
